There is a Rolling Stone article outlining, in great detail (with citations!) of how the GOP defrauded the election in Ohio and got away with it.
This is beyond disgusting. How can any party call themselves supporters of democracy when they try to prevent people from voting? I don't care if you think your person is the best candidate, you still do it fairly without taking away one of the most basic rights afforded in this country. Then again, this is the same party that has consistently tried to remove other basic rights like the separation of church and state, the right to a fair trial, etc.
And just to echo a piece of advice I have given before: NEVER vote on an electronic voting machine that does not have a paper ballot you can physically verify. It's better to mail in an absentee ballot.
Once again, you never hear about this kind of crap happening in Canada. This is one of those things that screams reform at the federal level. Screw individual state rights; voting is something that is the same across the nation and does not require a unique perspective by a state. Maybe this will be the thing that finally gets me politically motivated if I end up living in the States ever again.
