How to speak Canadian

First of all, there are accents. Some people sound like they have a slight twang like they are from Minnesota (think like the movie Fargo). Others have unique accents (people from Newfoundland and Nova Scotia especially) based on the area of Canada they come from.

Then there is how they end sentences. "Eh" and "right" are popular. Some people use it a lot, some people just use it on occasion. Frequency of use really varies, just like people from the Bay Area who say "hella".

And yes, South Park The Movie was right, people do say "buddy" up here. Had my first experience of it when I went and played baseball with a bunch of guys from St. Johns (residence college next door; actually managed to do a good job at first base, and now I need a mitt). You don't say "Hey, man, good try"; it's "good try, buddy". It was rather funny when guys would talk to each other and every sentence ended in "buddy".

Not much swearing yet. Or at least nothing extreme like how I tend to spout off. "Crap" seems fine, but "shit", "fuck", etc. just don't seem to get tossed around very much. Guess I am going to have to clean up my language. =)
