I have been eating my fruits and vegetables!

Yes, that is a salad I am having for lunch, along with pasta, a slice of chocolate cake, and two Milk Chugs. I know it may shock my girlfriend (whom, when I am near, eat nearly every meal with but almost always cook my own meal since I am not a tofu person =), but I have been eating relatively healthy while at Google.

Back in April it seems that food services decided to make the micro-kitchesn at Google healthy. For those of you who have not been to Google, micro-kitchens are stations every 100 feet on every floor of every Google building where you can get drinks (a fridge like what you see in liquor marts full of random stuff) and snacks (scoop bins of stuff) for free. Before they had a variety from trail mix to jelly beans. But now they have scaled back the sugar end of the scale so that the unhealthy stuff isn't available. That means the worst I eat in snacks is M&M's and organic, yogurt-covered almonds.

I also have been eating my fruits and vegetables as snacks. When they just have a box of apples and bananas just sitting there, I actually tend to grab one or two (have not done the oranges yet, but that is just because I prefer it when someone else cuts it for me; kind of like someone making you a sandwich and thus cares for you thing). When I get back to Vancouver I am planning to just keep a bowl out on the table with whatever fruits and vegetables that don't require refrigeration out so that the barrier to eating them is as low as possible.
