Dealing with print without high-end software is near impossible

So I'm all happy with my business card design. I even set the proper size for bleed and made sure everything is far enough from the edge for safety. I even did the work in CMYK and used rich black for the background.

But bloody DPI! Toss that in with CMYK and everything goes out the door. For the life of me I can't find a free image editor for OS X that can handle CMYK. I can generate it fine, but not resize it and guarantee use of CMYK.

This is why Photoshop owns the raster image editing market. They have great print support through CMYK. And they have all of the tools you need to alter an image. But even at the student price the cost of the software is exorbitant.

Might have to wait until I get to my dad's for US Thanksgiving to use his copy of Photoshop.

Time to make some feature requests. I don't suppose you know any of the GIMPShop developers?
