I want GPS for my camera

I went for a bike ride today and ended up in an odd part of Vancouver (area by King Edward and Granville). In the process I saw a bunch of plantation-style houses (very odd for a town where so many houses in the suburbs look the same; damn Vancouver Special). And with my interest in architecture I would like to photograph houses that I like.

But the problem is that I don't want to write down where the house is for every shot that I take. That would get old very quickly. What I want is the image to have a GPS marker embedded within the file so that it will always know where it was taken. I know cameras are starting to do this, but I want this to be a ubiquitous feature.

And what would be even better is if camera phones started to do it. It even makes more sense since they already have to be able to tell where they are because of E911. Plus photos from phones tend to be very situational and thus would have higher impact if their location was easily known.

just in case you don't know, the Nokia N95 camerpahone has a built in GPS; it'll be a standard feature in a couple of years for all phones methinks!

Looks like a new web site called locr exists that helps pair your photos with their location. They recommend you either use a GPS unit from Sony or get a GPS unit for your cell phone and use their software.
