I just bought and downloaded
Calling All Cars yesterday. Played two-player split-screen with Arjun until he was exhausted. Even got Meesh to join in for a couple of games which she enjoyed. This game rivals
Trash Talk: Double Trash for swearing potential. =)

Yup, "Calling All Cars" is very fun. There's lots of interplay between players with tons of turn-overs. This makes it entertaining for by-standers as well.
For beginners, the turbo boosts and special abilities take some time to master but there are three different control settings so one of them should match up intuitively. The variety of cars also means that you can match their abilities to your play style.
Unlike a racing game, you can choose to play defense (lurk near the goals and try to snatch the criminal at the last moment). However, the action is so wild near the goals (entrances to a jail) that it's not a sure-fire strategy. Plus some stages have roving goals (helicopters or "paddy-wagons") to deliver the criminal.
In both single-player and multi-player mode, you can set the AI (Artificial Intelligence or computer-controlled cars) to different levels of difficulty, which is very nice. As a beginner you can face-off against cars that make similar mistakes. And as you improve, you can really challenge yourself.
One thing I noticed was that my left hand started cramping half-way through the game whether I used the directional arrows or the left joystick. I guess I am just not used to the Playstation controller. Newcomers will have to take breaks after every game or sit out rounds to recuperate!
