This has been a slightly hectic month. To begin with, I have PyCon during the last week of this month. I fly to Dallas, TX this Thursday and come back that following Thursday. I am presenting this year and I am on a panel so that takes up some time.
But then I am also taking a class this term: Topics in Computer Security. It's mostly to see if I can learn something since most of my research work has been in security. Unfortunately it has not. But I am using the class paper to finally write up all of the Python security work I have been doing. The class, though, has an initial draft due at the end of this month, which is already a full week shorter because of PyCon.
Plus I have been helping with AOSD. As of this moment my friend Arjun and I are in charge of badge. I believe our official titles are registration support or something. But the conference is mid-March, which means the badges need to be done less than a week after I get back from PyCon.
And finally, something has come up that might lead to me actually getting to use my Python security work for my PhD thesis. That has caused me to be on a slight emotional roller coaster.
In other words I have been extremely busy. I keep meaning to call Gabe, for instance, but I either forget or remember too late in the evening to be able to make the call. I also have not been able to work on the todo app I have been trying to get done to help organize my life.
And I have had a rash of ideas of personal Python projects. That means my pre-existing list needs to get pruned down so I can move on to some of things I have thought of recently.
This all ignores, of course, my personal web site I have been planning on starting for months now. Which, incidentally, also holds up any redesign of my brother's or father's sites by me.
Blah. Come March I am hitting the todo app hard and then moving on from there.
