One of my DIMM slots has gone out

Looks like my model of PowerBook is known to have a problem where the lower DIMM slot goes bad (see http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple.ars/2005/8/15/975). This means I am running with only 512 MB of RAM. Might explain why thing have seemed a little sluggish as of late. I will probably take my laptop to the local Apple shop that is authorized to do repairs so it can be fixed while I visit my mother over American Thanksgiving.
