Another way to do cheap calls

JAJAH is another VoIP compnay, but with the twist that you visit a web page, enter your phone number and the number you want to call, and JAJAH calls both of you and connects the two calls together. Their rates are cheap ($0.025 within the US, Canada, China, and Hong Kong; even free if both you and the other user have "active accounts") and they just announced software so that you can place calls using your cell phone. There are also a plug-in for Apple Address Book and a Google homepage module. The thing is simple enough that my parents could use it. =)

I just tried a call with my mother and it came out clearly apparently. I have signed up for an account and I am just waiting for the verification email to finish signing up. Then I plan to give the phone software a try (if my phone is supported).

Interesting…Worth mentioning that in recent years, "10-10" long distance services have been also very popular as an easier alternative to enjoy cheap long distance calls. How it works? You simply dial the "10-10" plan's 7-digit access code, and then the area code and number you wish to call - and receive the discounted rates offered by the "10-10" company. This is an easy way to take advantage of lower rates - without having to sign-up, internet or switching your long distance company. The Internet is a great resource for finding the rates and numbers of "10-10" companies in your area.

For example, you can now call Australia, Canada and most European countries for only 1¢ per minute by simply calling 1010228 before each call (e.g. 1010228 + 011 + country code + number you wish to call). http://www.1010228.com is one of the leading discount "10-10" number in the US for interstate and international calls
